Alexa Kubica

Alexa Kubica

Following her graduation from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, Alexa was ready to pursue a new passion in life. After dedicating the past 15 years of her life towards competitive ice hockey, she decided to hang up her skates and shift gears from a life of competition to one of self-discovery. At first, Alexa was immediately attracted to the physical demands of yoga, however, it wasn’t too long into her exploration that she discovered yoga as a guide to improve her overall wellbeing. Alexa has since completed her RYT 500 through YogaWorks and the Colorado School of Yoga. She is now employed as the Studio Director at O2 Aspen where she teaches a variety of classes focused around Integrated Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. In her role as a yoga teacher, Alexa’s goal is to spark self-awareness in her students and cultivate an immersion of yoga on their mats and into their everyday lives. She creates space for self-discovery, manifestation of intentions, and a connection between mind and body. With her thoughtful nature, Alexa is able to craft classes rooted in gratitude that consist of a balance between powerful, strong sequences and deep, mindful releases.

Kristen Morris

Kristen Morris

Kristen began her career with health and fitness while in college (1994) and discovered her passion for group fitness and personal training. She competed in several fitness/bikini competitions in her early 20s. While Kristen learned a lot of training techniques and how to diet to look good, she also learned what she do not want in her life...deprivation, low-self esteem, overtraining injuries, and health issues. She looked good on the outside, but was most definitely not healthy. Her shifted gears and she began practicing yoga (2001) and eating a plant-based diet. Kristen began teaching Power Vinyasa yoga soon after, then became a certified holistic health coach. It was just what she needed physically and spiritually to be what she now knows as healthy inside and out. Her life's work is to share this passion for health and wellness with her students and clients.

Nicky Campbell

Nicky Campbell

Nicky practices feeling the power of each pose and the depth of her breath - she was a college athlete and have always enjoyed exercise, sports, and the feedback of strength, capability, and energy her body provided when correctly engaged. Her classes tend to reflect what she enjoys about the practice - they are athletic with a solid warm up, long holds, and peak poses that are taught in an approachable way, always giving alternatives and options for advancement. Students definitely build heat progressively through class, a healthy sweat develops midway and, by the end, are meant to feel balanced, even and mentally and physically strong.

SHANNON DAY

SHANNON DAY

Shannon came to the practice of yoga when in dire need of some self-care as a brand new school teacher in Boston, MA right out of college in 2006. She found Back Bay Yoga Studio and when it comes to practicing, hasn't looked back. As a Health and Physical Education teacher, with an educational background in Exercise Science, the asana (posture) and vinyasa practice hooked her. The movement, the flow, the structure and alignment made her naturally feel confident with her strength and mobility, and it was fun! What kept her, with its rewarding challenges, and eventually drove her to sign up for her first teacher training, was the philosophy, the guidance.. the Eight Limbed Path. Ashtanga/the eight limbed path, as a more complete practice in and outside of a yoga studio, was an anchor and guide for life that Shannon had needed and continues to study and practice today. She is a lifelong student and lover of learning, more than a teacher, but as a teacher she strives to inspire this love of learning and to inspire students to practice Svadhyaya (self-study). Her teaching works to inspire curiosity for her students about their own thoughts, words and actions, to teach compassion and observation without judgment towards self and others, and to help students grow their relationship with the world around them, all on and off the mat with their practice. She teaches a strong asana class, using intelligent (and fun!) sequencing, informed by Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, with a solid focus on alignment not to make students' practices or poses perfect, but to hone the skills of mindfulness and attention training through asana practice.

The benefits of yoga changed her life. Throughout the years, Chelsea's practice transitioned into something larger than the physical postures and extended well beyond the mat. After graduating with a Master's degree in Business, she realized she wanted to share her passion for yoga with others, in hopes of facilitating the healing elements that yoga provides.
