ASPEN'S WINTER LOOK

O2 Aspen Commerce and Style Director Brooke Danielson knows how to dress for most any activity or event in Aspen. As a seasoned fashion editor, Brooke has held editorial positions at Shape, Glamour and Vogue.com. The New Yorker has been coming to Aspen since childhood, but this winter marks her first full-time foray into the mountain town of 8,000 residents.

Here, some style guidelines she follows while living in the chicest ski town in the country.

It's all about a great puffer coat, cozy winter boots and layering pieces this winter in Aspen. Consider wearing comfortable, sporty-yet-chic pieces that can take you from Pilates class, to breakfast, to the slopes and all the way to aprés. A cashmere sweater pairs well with a down vest under a puffer coat and styled with warm leggings. Accessorize your look with a warm cashmere beanie and snow boots.

...a night out with friends
Keep it practical but appropriate for a night out with friends. The "right" footwear is key. Avoid spiked heels or anything without traction (lots of slipping and sliding in the winter!). High rise denim paired with a bodysuit (think Live the Process) and a cashmere sweater are great for a casual dinner or drinks out.

...a romantic dinner
Feeling romantic? Throw on a skinny black pant with a bodysuit and lace up heeled lug sole booties--it's the way to go. Add a mid-layer leather jacket under your favorite winter coat. Play up your look with a delicate gold jewelry from Carbon & Hyde (available in-store at O2 Aspen).

...apres-ski
Aprés ski is a time to unwind have fun and sip hot cocoa (or a yummy cocktails). Try not to take this activity too seriously and play up your fun side. Consider an all red athleisure look from Split59 with a metallic puffer coat from SAM.

...yoga to coffee
A crop top and high-rise legging combo from Alo yoga creates the ultimate yoga look, and will keep you comfortable all morning long. Throw on a vibrant color puffer from SAM, and Stella McCartney x Adidas sneakers.
