HOMETOWN:San Antonio, TX
Following her graduation from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, Alexa was ready to pursue a new passion in life. After dedicating the past 15 years of her life towards competitive ice hockey, she decided to hang up her skates and shift gears from a life of competition to one of self-discovery. At first, Alexa was immediately attracted to the physical demands of yoga, however, it wasn’t too long into her exploration that she discovered yoga as a guide to improve her overall wellbeing. Alexa has since completed her RYT 500 through YogaWorks and the Colorado School of Yoga. She is now employed as the Studio Director at O2 Aspen where she teaches a variety of classes focused around Integrated Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. In her role as a yoga teacher, Alexa’s goal is to spark self-awareness in her students and cultivate an immersion of yoga on their mats and into their everyday lives. She creates space for self-discovery, manifestation of intentions, and a connection between mind and body. With her thoughtful nature, Alexa is able to craft classes rooted in gratitude that consist of a balance between powerful, strong sequences and deep, mindful releases.

Allison took her first yoga class when she was in college, at the urging of a physical therapist, after suffering a knee injury from running a marathon. But it wasn’t until several years later, when she moved to New York City to attend law school, that Allison fell in love with yoga. What was once just another workout, became much more – a source of calm, strength, and community. She earned her 200-hour yoga teacher certification from Pure Yoga in New York and trained for several months after with Kiley Holliday. Allison’s vinyasa classes are alignment-focused and very flowy. During her yoga teacher training, Allison was introduced to yoga nidra—yogic sleep, and thus began her journey to understand meditation. Today, Allison teaches yoga nidra as well as mindfulness and metta (loving-kindness) meditation classes, both from the Buddhist tradition. Allison has taught yoga and meditation classes in studios in New York City and Colorado, and she also teaches for law firms, the New York City Bar Association, and public interest organizations.

Aisha, who was given the spiritual name Ma Abha Anand by her Guru based on her ability to create and share blissful light, first found yoga at O2 when she moved to Aspen as a snowboard bum in the early millennial shift. Yoga quickly became her tool for balancing an active mountain lifestyle. She took the leap towards teaching in 2016 by going to India and spending time in an Ashram where she immersed in all things Yoga and experienced profound transformational awakening. Albeit initially drawn in by the physical benefits of asana, which is still part of her every day practice, she now enjoys all the tools of yoga for achieving flow, for herself and her students.

In 2000 while living in Australia, Courtney began practicing yoga to recover from a running injury. Amazed with the results she began experimenting with many styles including Astanga, Iyengar, Bikram, Synergy, Jivamutki and general Hatha, however she always came back to the Astanga for its strength, flow and lineage.
After leading daily yoga sessions to surfers in Spain, she decided to go for a teaching certificate and completed a 200 hr training in the Astanga style from Brian Cooper at Union Yoga in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2006. Since then, Courtney has traveled to India to study more of the traditional practices as well as completed additional trainings in Astanga Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Sculpt, Paddleboard Yoga, Vipassana Meditation, and is now working towards a Chromatic Yoga and 500hr certification with Matt Giordano.
Courtney’s classes follow the Astanga method by focusing on the connection of breath and movement. She loves showing students how yoga can enhance and complement their performance in many sports and other activities such as snowboarding, skiing, biking, hiking, partying.

A practice that explores strength, balance and flexibility. Moving in an intelligent and thoughtful manner to explore the physical edge while connecting with breath.
David began practicing yoga shortly after he moved to Colorado in 2010. He quickly developed a connection with the practice, finding a way to explore strength, balance and flexibility. He completed his Colorado School of Yoga 200 hour teacher training with Julia Clarke and Gina Caputo in 2014. His practice and teaching are grounded in exploring and learning more about the physical, mental and emotional experience that is yoga. Every day discovering new ways to connect within the union of mind, body and breath. In class you can expect to find a deep breath connection, travel through thoughtful and creative sequences, and to flip your perspective as you go upside down and play with arm balances and inversions.

Kristen began her career with health and fitness while in college (1994) and discovered her passion for group fitness and personal training. She competed in several fitness/bikini competitions in her early 20s. While Kristen learned a lot of training techniques and how to diet to look good, she also learned what she do not want in her life...deprivation, low-self esteem, overtraining injuries, and health issues. She looked good on the outside, but was most definitely not healthy. Her shifted gears and she began practicing yoga (2001) and eating a plant-based diet. Kristen began teaching Power Vinyasa yoga soon after, then became a certified holistic health coach. It was just what she needed physically and spiritually to be what she now knows as healthy inside and out. Her life's work is to share this passion for health and wellness with her students and clients.

Meredith has always had a joy for fitness. Growing up she loved playing basketball, running Cross Country, and living an active lifestyle. Soon after the hayday of high school sports, she missed the physical demands as well as the comradery those sports brought to her life. Going into a fitness class she noticed feeling that same hint of accomplishment and drive she felt playing sports, so naturally, fitness and yoga classes drew her in.
Meredith started her venture with O2 in 2019 as the Marketing Director and after enjoying many classes in the beautiful studio, she started her journey into teaching at O2.

Nicky practices feeling the power of each pose and the depth of her breath - she was a college athlete and have always enjoyed exercise, sports, and the feedback of strength, capability, and energy her body provided when correctly engaged. Her classes tend to reflect what she enjoys about the practice - they are athletic with a solid warm up, long holds, and peak poses that are taught in an approachable way, always giving alternatives and options for advancement. Students definitely build heat progressively through class, a healthy sweat develops midway and, by the end, are meant to feel balanced, even and mentally and physically strong.
TEACHERS & MENTORS:General practitioners who are true to themselves, accepting of all their limitations and open to correction (changing what they can and accepting what they can't in not. Not just in their yoga practice but in life in general). This is something Nicky strives for in her practice.
BEFORE TEACHING:College athlete (track) and worked at a powerlifting gym as a side gig for 10 years. Always loved investigating the human body and how to better strengthen and heal it and found yoga helped to do that plus move that discipline to the mind.

Trishka Lemos holds an Iyengar Yoga Intermediate Junior II level of certification and comes with over 30 years of experience.
The Iyengar Yoga certification process is considered the "gold standard" of Yoga teaching credentials. It is very rigorous, ensuring a well-trained instructor in the art, science, and philosophy of yoga. Future teachers confirm their dedication through years of study: at least 3 years as students + an additional 3 years of a Teacher Training Program.
Teacher training includes the study of anatomy, physiology, philosophy, and practical teaching methods. Candidates for certification undergo an assessment process that includes introducing a mentor teacher and a three-part exam. Prospective teachers must demonstrate proficiency in asana performance, pranayama, and teaching, and take a written exam in philosophy and anatomy. The evaluation is held by an external commission composed of senior-level teachers.
In addition to completing the rigorous process of becoming a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher in 2006, Trishka has undergone a 4-year Iyengar Yoga Therapy Program. This program included an in-depth study of the appendicular skeleton system, the axial skeleton system, the organic body, and the nervous system.
